I enjoy capturing images of people in natural light. This is something that I have done very little of since 2020 during the early stages of the coronavirus outbreak when I photographed the deserted streets in Ann Arbor providing a glimpse into the economic and social disruption that has impacted our communities.

“Within One Square Mile: One Year Into The COVID-19 Pandemic” highlights moments when some people are out and about in downtown Ann Arbor and businesses are partially open while adhering to social distancing guidelines during a time when vaccines are being administered and some government restrictions have been lifted.
